One-on-One Training Lessons

Our private lessons are designed for real-world applications, and many common issues can be addressed in one or two sessions—or we can customize a plan to fit your goals. From puppy raising, navigating reactivity, or teaching an old dog new tricks, we’re experienced with just about every challenge a dog can have.

Looking to develop obedience commands, cultivate a calm mind, or finally resolve behavior issues? Whatever your challenge, we can help!

LESSON PACKAGES

We craft our lesson packages to address the most common issues dog owners face. These comprehensive programs offer structured, effective solutions to provide the perfect balance of training and ongoing support, even between lessons.

  • Not every dog is ready to relax in high-energy environments of breweries and bars, but it’s a goal we hear a lot from clients!

    We'll teach your dog to find calm on command using the cue "Enough," showing you how to achieve relaxed behaviors even in busy settings. We provide ongoing virtual support while you practice tailored homework geared to reinforce a calm mindset in public.

    For the final session, you’ll sip with your trainer at your choice of dog-friendly haunts, where your dog will put their newfound skills to the test—all with your trainer right by your side. First round is on us!

    2 sessions | $280

  • Going to the vet doesn’t have to be traumatic for your dog (or you).

    After assessing your dog’s anxieties, we’ll introduce relaxation techniques and handling desensitization drills. Depending on your dog’s challenges, we can also introduce muzzle conditioning for safer vet visits.

    You and your trainer will have a "happy visit" to the vet to transform your dog’s perception of the vet's lobby and exam room. We’ll coordinate our final session to coincide with your dog’s vet appointment, so you can reinforce positive behaviors all with your trainer there to support you.

  • Transform your dog from yanking and pulling to walking calmly at your side!

    With proven leash-handling techniques, we’ll show you how to walk like a pro. We know that no tool is one-size-fits-all, which is why we provide collars and leash setups tailored to your dog, carefully fitted by your trainer for optimal comfort and effectiveness. Using positive reinforcement, we'll introduce the concept of leash language to foster loose-leash walking. Lessons progress to handling distractions and reactivity, using real-world situations to challenge your dog's focus. By the end, you'll have all the tools and strategies to achieve the relaxed walk you've always wanted.

  • Give your young pup the best start in life! We train with structured strategies, ensuring your puppy develops good habits from the beginning. Got a puppy question? We’re here for you—even between sessions.

    You’ll learn how to teach your puppy the basic commands such as Sit, Down, Place, and Come, along with leash manners (loose-leash walking) and crate training. As lessons advance, we’ll guide you in helping your pup gain confidence while keeping them engaged with you, no matter how distracting the environment. We empower owners to bring out their puppy’s fullest potential.

    4 sessions | for puppies 12 weeks–6 months | $550

  • Through text and video feedback, your trainer will provide guidance in between lessons, as well as relevant reference materials. We love supporting you every step of the way!

  • Consistent practice is key to success in dog training. Your trainer will provide personalized homework as key reinforcement between sessions. Dogs only change if we do, so it’s vital to put in the work at home!

  • Private lessons focus on hands-on learning for the owner. Your trainer will guide you through the training process with your dog, and you'll practice in between sessions to ensure lasting progress at home. We're only a text away to support you between lessons!

  • With lessons starting at $150, private one-on-one sessions are a great way to shine up your dog, without breaking the bank.

  • We’ll supply you with a treat pouch to help reinforce good behaviors at home. Every dog and handler work together differently, and we’re happy to make suggestions for other training tools after assessing your dog in person.

  • Location, location, location!

    Looking for lessons at home? We’re happy to come to you! Otherwise, lessons are conducted in public in the downtown Wilmington area, among historic neighborhoods and local businesses with plenty of distractions to train around.

  • Lessons are 60-90 minutes long. It takes time for humans to learn new tricks too, so training is set to the owner’s pace. Our flexible scheduling is designed to work with your needs!
